Glover, VT – Sam Young has announced that he will run as a Democrat for a seat in the Vermont House of Representatives for Orleans-Caledonia 1.  With his fresh and innovative perspective on economic development, the vital role of technology and community preservation, Sam has pledged to “work every day for the people of the Kingdom to make this area a more prosperous place to live, work and raise a family.”

 Some of the ways that Sam intends to work toward economic development include more and better marketing of the area’s recreational attractions, leading to an increase in tourism; actively seeking out and recruiting new businesses to locate to the area, providing jobs and capital; and maximizing the potential benefit of broadband internet for area businesses and state government.

 “You deserve to be represented by someone who is dedicated to both preserving and growing your community and your businesses.  I want a government that does not infringe on our liberties by creating additional taxes and regulations, but recognizes the need to create the necessary infrastructure for us to participate in the economy of the 21^st century.”

 A native to the area, Sam is the owner of Think or Sink, a web development and internet strategy company that provides project management and programming services to businesses and political candidates.  Additionally, he is the co-founder of The Parker Pie Company located in West Glover.
